Message or call any GLS Rental number with three things: what you are building, the dates you need the equipment, and where the site is. We confirm availability, quote the total including delivery if needed, and you collect from one of our five branches or we bring it out. Security deposits apply to some equipment and are confirmed at booking.
This post is our own information rather than sourced guidance — our prices, our branches, our terms. The one place it cites a standard is the part about who operates the equipment, because that is not ours to define.
What to have ready
- What you are building. A slab, a boundary wall, a second floor, a re-roof.
- Your measurements. Wall length and height. For a slab, also how far the concrete reaches between its supports. That distance decides how many days you need props for, so it decides a big part of your cost.
- Your dates. Not just the start. Props and formwork stay for weeks after a pour.
- Where the site is. It decides which branch you collect from.
A photograph of the drawing on your phone is plenty. We work the counts out from that.

Where to collect
Each branch page has a map link. For quantities of props and plywood, ask about delivery rather than making six trips.
What it will cost
Scaffolding is D150 per set per day, acro jacks D4 each per day, plywood D24 per sheet per day, and a concrete mixer D9,900 per day with the operator included. The full price list has everything.
What the published rate does not include is delivery, quantity and duration. That is why a quote is a conversation.
Deposits, returns and cancellations
- Security deposits are required for some equipment. We tell you which and how much at booking, not on arrival.
- Equipment returns in the condition it went out in, and the renter carries responsibility for damage or loss during the rental period.
- Cancel at least 24 hours ahead to avoid charges. Emergencies are handled case by case.
- Our full terms are on the terms of service page.
The part that is not up to us
Renting equipment does not transfer competence with it. Safety standards written for this work assume a qualified person is present on your side.
OSHA's scaffolding standard requires scaffolds to be inspected for visible defects by a competent person before each work shift and after any occurrence which could affect structural integrity, and puts several judgements — whether mixed components are structurally sound, whether dissimilar metals are safe together — in that person's hands.1
The American Concrete Institute says the same about formwork: the decision on when props and moulds come off the concrete should be made by your engineer or architect, not on site.2
We can tell you what we have, what it costs, and what the standards say. We cannot be your competent person or your engineer. If your build does not have one, that is the gap to close before the equipment arrives.
Common questions
- How do I rent construction equipment from GLS Rental?
- Call or WhatsApp (+220) 385-7732, (+220) 771-7179 or (+220) 871-7179, or email support@glsrental.com. Tell us what you are building, your spans and dates, and where the site is. We confirm availability and quote the total, then you collect from your nearest branch or we deliver.
- Where are GLS Rental branches located?
- GLS Rental has five branches in The Gambia: Lamin Daranka, Jabang, Yarambamba ( OIC Road ), Bijilo ( OIC Road ) and Jambanjelly. Each branch page has a map link.
- What are GLS Rental opening hours?
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM.
- Do I need a deposit to rent equipment?
- Security deposits are required for certain equipment. We confirm whether a deposit applies, and how much, at the time of booking.
- Can GLS Rental deliver equipment to my site?
- Ask us when you book — contact us for a delivery quote, or collect from your nearest of the five branches.
- Does renting equipment mean GLS Rental supervises the work?
- No. OSHA's scaffolding rules require someone qualified to inspect the scaffold before every shift and after anything that could have weakened it. ACI 347-04 says your engineer or architect should decide when props and moulds come off the concrete. Those roles belong to your project, not to the company renting you the equipment.
